We met with Sean Fernandez from Alexander Events on a moist, humid Miami summer evening overlooking the Atlantic sea. This catering veteran of 27 years dressed in his casual Miami-vice pink shirt and cool, cotton white pants sat with his cup of Cuban espresso as we discussed Alexander Events’ impressive history of event planning for South Florida weddings and events.
Having partnered with over 100 venues through Miami and Southern Florida it is no wonder why Alexander Events is referred to as “The Miami Catering Machine”. Sean was intrigued by catering from an early age since he was a young boy when his Cuban mother would organize neighborhood events in their modest home in Santa Clara, Cuba. “I remember how my mother would find anything – shrubs, fruits, and cloth to create enchanting events.”
It’s this same resourcefulness that has clung to Alexander Events’ creative juices and made it renown for its catering of corporate and private events, wedding planning, seminar plans, theme parties, and more.
Sean is constantly on the hunt for new, exotic recipes. He believes that being innovative and progressive has been key to his success. He’s constantly trying to integrate new ingredients into old recipes and as he says, his goal is to “shatter my client’s expectations and keep them coming for more!”
Indeed, Alexander Events’ roots give it the inspiration for great food and lavish cuisine. Most recently, Alexander Events catered a wedding in Daytona Beach to a group of 300 guests. Sean said the theme was “A Fairytale Wedding” and that the menu made allusions to Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. Sean says he gains the most enjoyment from the pleasantly surprised looks of awe and pleasure that his creative masterpieces attract.
The Miami Catering Machine will surely continue to treat its guests with contemporary flair while using its vast knowledge to please all tastes and budgets. Sean can be contacted at Sean_E@aol.com.
